Most Fat Tuesday events in Boston tend to take place over the weekend, which is OK, I guess. Its not like were the authentic deal up here anyway, but its still nice to be able to celebrate Fat Tuesday on, you know, Tuesday, even if youre not in New Orleans. Meanwhile, Darryls Corner Bar and Grill will be celebrating New Orleans cooking and music, as per usual, tonight, but with a little added flair guaranteed. In Cambridge, The Middle East is adding a little Fat Tuesday spice to its weekly "Throwed" dance party featuring DJ E-Marce and Texas Mike. Just remember, if you hit the town tonight, it is indeed still Tuesday. Its school vacation week, which means, odds are you might be stuck at home with them, pulling your hair out looking for something to do. And its only Tuesday. There is only so much "Phineas and Ferb" you can handle (trust me), so get them out of the house at some point. From the Childrens Museum (right) to the aquarium, to the Museum of Science, there are plenty of ways to keep children occupied in the city this week. Just be forewarned, the ideas are pretty popular, so if you going to go, go early in order to avoid massive crowds. Also, while there may be no snow in your backyard, there is plenty in the mountains, where New England ski resorts have been fighting this warm winter with plenty of snowmaking. Heres our list of ski areas that are a two-hour drive or less from Boston. |
